Computational Acoustics

Academic background

Zhensheng Chen finished his undergraduate studies at the Chinese University of Science and Technology, Department for Mechanics, in the summer of 1966. From 1973 to 1987, he worked as a research engineer at the Research Institute for Mechanical Engineering in Zhengzhou, Henan, China, where his main research areas were computational and fracture mechanics. During this time, he finished his master's (October 1978 – December 1981 at the above mentioned university) and doctoral studies (November 1983 – December 1986 at the Vienna University of Technology, Department for Civil Engineering).

From 1987 to 1997, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Strength of Materials, Vienna University of Technology; his main research areas were BEM for acoustics and solic mechanics. From 1997 through 2002, he worked as a software developer for computational acoustics and mechanics at NAD (Numerical Analysis and Design GesmbH & Co KG).

He joined the Acoustics Research Institute's computational acoustics team in August 2002.

Dr. Chen currently works on BEM for acoustics.
