The HRTF positions are not the same in the ARI and CIPIC format. For example: The polar angles in ARI format cover a range from -30 to 80 deg, the range in CIPIC is from -45 to 90 deg (and 230.625 in the back). Even though the ARI format provides a flexible grid, the HRTF positions in the CIPIC format are hard-coded. During the conversion to CIPIC, the HRTF positions are adapted to the CIPIC grid, which may result in errors. Below the errors for the lateral and polar angles are shown, together with spheres showing the ARI and CIPIC positions.The plots can be re-produced with ARI2CIPIC for an arbitrary ARI grid.
