Current Research

Since 2017 Carina Lozo is part of the Acoustic Phonetics research group as a research assistant. Her research interests lie in dialects of eastern Austria, in speech synthesis and the sociophonetics of Viennese varieties.

Currenty she works on the research project "The voice of the young Viennese woman - an experimental-phonetic longitudinal study on the voice quality of young Viennese women". In this project she collects speech data, describes and analyzes the acoustic features of female voices.

Academic Background

Carina Lozo studied linguistics at the University of Graz and applied linguistics at the University of Vienna. She wrote her master's thesis on "Synthesis and prosodic transfer of two South Bavarian dialects - speech synthesis as an interdisciplinary field of research in linguistics".
